Buxa Tiger Reserve
Buxa Fort
A historical marvel, Buxa Fort stands as a testament to various eras, from the Bhutanese rulers to the British Raj, who used it as a high-security prison. The trek to the fort (around 4 km from Santalabari) is scenic and offers panoramic views of the surrounding forests. The fort is believed to have been a refuge for freedom fighters during India’s struggle for independence.
Boro Mahakal Cave & Temple
The “boro mahakal cave” in Jayanti is a stalactite cave dedicated to Lord Shiva, part of the Mahakal Caves complex in West Bengal.
